"Successful drama will reflect life..." Primary School Curriculum

Drama

  • Drama in the Curriculum The use of drama in the classroom encourages the child to express ideas that are creative and explorative. Children can examine our cultural heritage from a different perspective. Since language plays a critical role in drama, it also allows the child to develop their competence and confidence in English and Irish.
  • Socio Dramatic Play Socio-dramatic play helps children to make sense of the world around them and to develop and practise skills to handle real life scenarios in a safe environment. Eg. How to deal with bullying behaviour.
  • Drama Games Games to build trust, self-confidence, and essential drama skills are being practised by the children throughout the academic year. A visiting Drama teacher is also working with the older pupils at present. Again, this initiative is funded by our Parents Association.
